Profile
Mr. Ansu S. Tucker has served as Director-General of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) since April 2018. A seasoned civil servant with over 28 years of service, Mr. Tucker brings deep expertise in governance, civil service reform, and human resource management.
He holds a Master of Arts degree from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, a Master’s in Public Administration from IPAM, and is a Hubert Humphrey Fellow in Governance and Public Sector Management from the University of Washington, USA. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK) and Vice President of the West African Chapter of the African Public Sector Human Resource Management Network.
Mr. Tucker began his civil service career in 1993 and has held senior roles, including Principal Deputy Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and the first Director of HR Planning and Budgeting at HRMO. He has led numerous reform initiatives supported by development partners such as the EU and World Bank.
Known for his commitment to public sector transformation, he has introduced key innovations at HRMO, including decentralised HR management and nationwide capacity-building initiatives. His leadership is widely recognised for advancing professionalism, transparency, and institutional effectiveness within the Sierra Leone Civil Service.
