Profile
Dr Daniel Bobson Kaitibi is a distinguished academic and public administrator, currently serving as the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA). Appointed in July 2024 by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, he brings to the role a wealth of experience from his previous tenure as Director General of the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM), now the National Telecommunications Authority (NaTCA).
Dr Kaitibi holds a PhD in Health Information Systems through a joint programme between Njala University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also earned an MSc in Information Systems and Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management, Illinois, and a BSc in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Memphis, Tennessee.
He has held key academic leadership roles at Njala University, including Director of Studies at the School of Technology and Head of the Business Information Technology Programme. In these roles, he was instrumental in advancing digital transformation initiatives, including the development of online application and registration systems. His leadership continues to shape institutional innovation and public sector reform in Sierra Leone.
