Mariama S. Yormah
Coordinator
Profile
Mrs Mariama S. Yormah is the inaugural National Cybersecurity Coordinator of Sierra Leone, bringing nearly 15 years of expertise in technology, cybersecurity, and governance. She holds an MSc with Distinction in Information Systems Management and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Mrs Yormah currently heads the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NC3), a statutory body established under the Cybersecurity and Crime Act of 2021. Since its inception, she has led the country’s cybersecurity transformation, laying the foundational legal, policy, and institutional frameworks that underpin Sierra Leone’s national cyber defence strategy.
Under her leadership, Sierra Leone has operationalised its first national Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), established a national digital forensic laboratory, and made significant strides in the identification and protection of critical national information infrastructure. She has championed key national initiatives aimed at enhancing the investigative and prosecutorial capacities of law enforcement, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and fostering international partnerships.
Her strategic vision continues to shape Sierra Leone’s growing resilience to cyber threats and its active engagement in the global cybersecurity arena
