Profile

Mr. Ibrahim Sinneh Kamara is the Director General of the Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency (SLMET). He holds an MSc in Meteorology and Climate from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Meteorology from the UK Met Office College in Exeter. He also holds a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) and a background in Mathematics and Physics Education from Njala University.

Under his leadership, Mr. Kamara has overseen the transformation of the Meteorological Department into a fully functional agency. He has also championed the integration of national meteorological data into the Global Telecommunication System and successfully facilitated the establishment of two international stations for global data transmission. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to modernization, international collaboration, and climate resilience.
