Ing. Edmond B. Nonie is the Minister of Energy I of the Republic of Sierra Leone. He brings a dynamic blend of engineering expertise, innovation, and leadership to the energy sector, with a strong commitment to enhancing energy access and promoting sustainable solutions across the country.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, and possesses several specialized technical certifications. His academic and professional training have equipped him with in-depth knowledge in mechanical systems, energy technologies, and infrastructure development.
Ing. Nonie has worked with international organizations, notably serving as the Drones (UAVs/UAS/RPAs) Technical Specialist at UNICEF, where he contributed to the application of emerging technologies in development programming. His work supported innovation in logistics, health service delivery, and disaster response.
In addition to his technical roles, Ing. Nonie is also an accomplished entrepreneur, demonstrating strong business acumen and a passion for creating impactful solutions in the engineering and energy space.
